Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Identify the needs of the customer and to find, together with the Sales Team and the customer, new solutions and opportunities for customer’s application, using known technologies or new innovative developments.
  • Align with the Sales Team to exceed the Closed Won NBO quota, as they proactively manage these to success and to revenue. This involves working as a team with the Product Line Director (PLD), Sales, Marketing, and Engineering / R&D organizations.
  • Assist in the design-in and development cycle of new products and for managing the seamless and speedy execution of sales and engineering projects.
  • Working as the interface between the customer and the R&D team and engineering in operations as appropriate
  • Determine trends and growth drivers and identify new product definitions that TTe IS&C should be targeting in the market.
  • Support pre-sales activities by assisting in the technical qualification of New Business Opportunities or NBO’s
  • Support the Sales Team in discovering demand-creation NBO’s through contacts with customers’ design/engineering team.
  • Identify the needs of the customer/industry as early as possible and clearly communicate this to sales and engineering (NPI development)
  • Gather all information needed to make the design input available to Engineering as complete as possible.
  • Along with the Sales team, review and present proposals (product selection, design solutions and project objectives) to customers.
  • Gain, correctly interpret and apply to customer information, internal data and market research results (competition, technology road-maps, trends)
  • Support the Sales Team in discovering demand-creation NBO’s through contacts with customers’ design/engineering team.
  • Help quality teams solve problems with applications with on-site evaluation and detailed discussion with customers
  • Providing technical assistance through all phases of the design cycle
  • Ensure on-time customer delivery of all information, including samples and supporting design and product verification activities.
  • Provide regular project status updates to the involved parties
  • Work jointly with R&D and Product Engineering to resolve technical issues during and after design-in activities until the project has moved successfully to production.
  • Assist EPS customers in the region for as needed
  • Attend annual training at HQ
  • Provide technical support and co-ordination of all kinds of quality issues happened in the field, keep track of quality issue trackers until the quality issues are fixed
  • Provide internal and external product training as required
  • Provide technical consultancy and advice

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelor Degree level minimum in Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years working experience as engineer at either a R&D, QA/QC, Testing, Production, or Field Application field
  • Experience in technical supporting Industrial, transportation market with specially EPS at system level
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Technical knowledge of sensor products and electronics
  • Politically aware of a North Asia environment
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Experience working with different cultures
  • Must be enthusiastic and can demonstrate excellent people management and social skills
  • Ability to travel at least 40-60% within China and North Asia region
