Role Overview and Responsibilities

The position will be responsible for providing technical support to the sales team, external customers and potential customers to ensure that product group sales and profit targets are achieved.  Participate actively in the effort to enhance the “technical solution” image of TT Electronics’s Magnetics to further reinforce its specialist product market position in power application markets.

 

The ideal candidate can be based anywhere in the US working out of his/her home office and traveling as business requires.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  1. Proactively obtain and analyze market information that can be used to identify and develop profitable new opportunities through the NBO process.
  2. Interact with customers and the BI regional sales force to understand new business opportunities and demands for new technology and ensure these are prioritized and systematically/regularly reviewed with the Director of Sales.
  3. Proactively participate in the management of new business opportunities in the CRM.  This includes status updates, follow-up of action items, and initiation of sample requests.
  4. Effectively work with Sales and NPI Engineering team to determine the technical and business feasibility of projects.
  5. Initiate new projects for the NPI team.  This includes the assignment of part numbers, detailed description of the requirements, estimation of cost, and estimation of annual usage.
  6. To provide proactive technical assistance on customer designs by coordinating and supporting BI regional sales force in technical product presentations and demonstrations during customer visits.
  7. Fully understand the technical needs of our customers through customer visits, literature study, and involvement in technical standards associations.
  8. Maintain technical understanding of competitive products.
  9. Document and communicate with internal engineering groups the customer’s requirements and ensure that these opportunities are tracked and progress with customer’s expectations from the quoting stage through sampling and design approval.
  10. Provide technical interface with customer on quality issues as directed by the Quality Manager.
  11. To provide technical training on the product line card and the customer’s applications to BI regional sales force and appointed distributors. This includes the writing and publishing of technical articles and application notes.
  12. Provide feedback to the Product Line Director on product demands from the customer base to ensure that the product portfolio covers all stages of product life cycle so that we have a balance of new, mature, end of life products etc. to give longevity to the business.
  13. Attend and staff trade shows and seminars to proactively and professionally promote BI magnetic product and services.
  14. Assist with the development of marketing materials and technical promotions necessary to support the growth of the product group.
  15. Grow the sales revenue thru the qualification of new products at the Magnetic Key Accounts in your global region and help maintain the close business relationship with the customer’s technical resources.
