This role is based at our Barnstaple location, part of the Power Electronics division, where we employ approximately 250 employees and specialise in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space, and defence industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

In this role as Inside Sales Representative you will be working with and supporting our Commercial Team. That includes using our MRP system, going out to suppliers for pricing and co-ordinating with the Production Engineers validating manufacturing requirements.


It is our intention that the role grows with the professional development of the job holder.


Key Responsibilities

  • Booking in customer enquiries
  • Sending requests for quotes to suppliers, including the attachment of relevant drawings
  • Sending and compiling quotes to the customer

Furthermore, you will:

  • Attach various documents to the ERP/MRP system
  • Generate Bills of Materials from Customer supplied drawings on our MRP system
  • Update Excel worksheets, paying close attention to hidden costs
  • Identify deviations from the customer request to the engineering drawings
  • Create records for parts with the ERP/MRP system
  • Contact and discuss issues with both customers, suppliers both external and internal 
  • Take in-coming calls for the business therefore a professional telephone manner is essential
  • Use Microsoft Outlook and Excel to report and communicate to customers and suppliers
  • Record obsolescence and deviations and communicate information to our customers

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

We aim to recruit someone with potential to learn and develop within the role. The ideal applicant would have a combination of the following skills and experience: 

  • Continued educational background (i.e. A levels, foundation degree)
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings to identify piece parts, notes and processes
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel to support business reporting is highly desired for this role.


Base salary within the range of £16,000 to £18,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
