    This role is based at Aero Stanrew, our Barnstaple location; part of the Power Electronics division where we employ approximately 250 employees and specialise in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space, and defence industries.

    Role Overview and Responsibilities

    This is a technical role, which requires a strong safety-orientated approach, the ability to follow detailed test specifications, and record test results both in paper and electronic form to a high degree of accuracy.

     

    The Senior Test Technician will possess both experience of electrical/electronic systems and have the ability to fault find these systems down to component level. The position requires experience and knowledge of test equipment such as Digital Multi-meters, Power supplies, signal generators, Oscilloscopes etc.

     

    As a senior technician, the successful candidate will be required to also assist in the supervision of the test and inspection team, while operating within the production environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Completing test programmes in accordance with internal documents or customer based schedules
    • Taking readings from test equipment and Recording test results accurately
    • Fault diagnosis and fault finding to component level
    • Assisting in the supervision of other Test/Inspectors
    • Providing technical support as required

     

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    Core Requirement

    • Educated to Btec ONC/HNC level in a relevant discipline

    Desireable Skills and Experience

    • Proven track record of electrical safety and working competently with electrical equipment
    • Should be flexible in approach, with good problem-solving skills
    • Close attention to detail, both in adhering to test programmes and the recording of test results
    • Confidence and good working knowledge of electrical/electronic principles
    • Some supervisory experience preferred
