    This role is based at Aero Stanrew, our Barnstaple location; part of the Power Electronics division where we employ approximately 250 employees and specialise in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space, and defence industries.

    Role Overview and Responsibilities

    We are currently recruiting for a skilled Electrician to join our team. Successful candidates will be required to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. 

     

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem 
    • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components 
    • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes 
    • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous 
    • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
    • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications
    • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures 

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    Core Requirements:

     

    • You will be a Qualified Electrician (to 17th Edition) and have experience of working as a Factory / Manufacturing Electrician 
    • You will be a team player with high level of dedication 
    • You will have experience of testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. 
    • Successful candidates will be organised and diligent with effective resilience and influencing skills to drive improvements and ensure compliance, with a real ‘can do’ attitude towards your work
