    Roxspur Measurement & Control Ltd (RM&C), based in Sheffield, became part of TT Electronics in July 2014. Our products include sensors, thermocouples, thermometers, transducers, transmitters, flowmeters and controllers. Our modern cell based manufacturing facilities are fully flexible for small and large batch runs, enabling us to provide short lead times even for customized products The in-house manufacturing and testing is backed up by our own UKAS accredited laboratory for pressure, temperature, flow and electrical parameters. A team of field-based engineers also provide a full calibration, maintenance and repair service throughout Europe.

    Role Overview and Responsibilities

    We have a senior vacancy for a commercially driven General Manager to join the Roxspur business in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. 

     

    This position is responsible for providing general management leadership to, and for the delivery of the business plans and budget for the Roxspur business within TT Electronics. The role has full P&L ownership for the business and is responsible for developing and executing clear and robust strategies to achieve their financial plans. The position is directly responsible for operations, sales, engineering, with matrixed support from product management, finance, and HR.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Developing and embedding a health and safety culture across the site and being responsible for environmental standards
    • Management of the business in its entirety, including full accountability for the P&L
    • Developing and delivering the business financial budgets including implementing cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries
    • Leading the development of the businesses growth strategies and the strategic execution of growth plans in line with the TT Way and 2020 goals
    • Working with product management to develop new product/services roadmaps to support growth objectives
    • Leading and directing the sales team including building relationships with key customer accounts
    • Developing the engineering teams and ensuring that new product introduction commitments are met
    • Developing the operations organisations across each site to support delivery of the functions objectives; drive high levels of accountability, ensuring strong performance management, skills development and succession planning
    • Managing excellent customer performance in terms of customer service, on time delivery and quality performance
    • Creating a framework to ensure continuous improvement activities utilizing effective tools with lean and six sigma principles and delivering the same 
    • Championing an improvement in employee engagement making the site a great place to work
    • Delivering key financial and performance data to the leadership team to support timely decision making
    • Developing and implementing an effective system to improve resource planning and delivery performance (S&OP), improving forecast accuracy and factory efficiency 
    • Reviewing gross profit performance and playing an active role, together with other functional leaders, to develop and implement plans to improve the same
    • Development of the purchasing and supply chain organization
    • Working in partnership with the Group Operations and Supply Chain Organisation in the areas of procurement, quality systems, lean operating systems and health, safety and environment
    • A role model of the TT Way behaviours who holds others, anywhere across TT, accountable for operating the TT Way

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    The successful candidate possess: 

    • Bachelor’s level university degree in engineering, operations management or related field
    • Proven experience in General Management in an electronics manufacturing organisation  
    • Proven experience in advanced manufacturing processes and techniques; including leading structured programmes to continuously improve performance
    • Strong operational financial knowledge, resource planning and workforce planning
    • Proven experience leading management level employees in multiple locations
    • Strong communications and interpersonal skills to effectively motivate and develop the business and employees   
    • Team player, receptive to ideas.  Shares information and keeps key stakeholders informed
    • Confident and dynamic communicator
    • Excellent written and spoken English
    • High energy, creative and motivated by results and strives to exceed expectations
    • Demonstrates strong leadership, analytical, influencing and decision-making skills
    • Some limited international travel is expected
