    Roxspur Measurement & Control Ltd (RM&C), based in Sheffield, became part of TT Electronics in July 2014. Our products include sensors, thermocouples, thermometers, transducers, transmitters, flowmeters and controllers. Our modern cell based manufacturing facilities are fully flexible for small and large batch runs, enabling us to provide short lead times even for customized products The in-house manufacturing and testing is backed up by our own UKAS accredited laboratory for pressure, temperature, flow and electrical parameters. A team of field-based engineers also provide a full calibration, maintenance and repair service throughout Europe.

    Role Overview and Responsibilities

     

    An opportunity has arisen for a CNC Miller/ Turner to join our Machine Shop department. You will report to the Machine Shop Supervisor and become part of a team of 12 personnel.We machine parts predominantly from bar, castings and billets where materials are typically aluminium, brass and stainless steel. Our machine list includes. Fanuc controlled Dahlih 4AXIS machining centre, Mazak Quick turn 10M and 18M Lathes Mazatrol controlled and Conquest lathes Fanuc controlled.

     

    Your primary responsibilities will be:

    • Changing over and setting machines in line with standard operating procedures.
    • Planning of work schedules in line with the production plan to ensure delivery dates are achieved.
    • Responsible for working to the manufacturing quality system to ensure the production of conforming products.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of TPM activities including the required regular machines checks.
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities to help identify and work on quality, efficiency and waste improvement opportunities using quick change over (SMED).
    • Participate in problem solving activities such as 8D and 5Why to determine actions required to eliminate root causes.

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    The successful candidate will have:

    • completed a full mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
    • proven experience of setting and programming CNC machines
    • understanding of tool setting and standard materials
    • ability to read engineering drawings metric and imperial
    • ability to work to a high standard of detail
    • good organisational/housekeeping skills

    Working Hours and Benefits

    • 39 hours a week (7.30-16.30 Mon-Thu; 7:30-12.30 Fridays)
