This role is based at Aero Stanrew, our Barnstaple location; part of the Power Electronics division where we employ approximately 250 employees and specialise in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space, and defence industries.

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Quality Engineer for Aero Stanrew (based in Barnstaple) on a 6 month fixed term contract basis.
A true a trainee role, the successful applicant will gain training as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing organisation and will assist the Quality Manager in maintaining ISO and aerospace standards whilst maintaining internal controls to meet our business objectives and ensuring we get the job done well.
Providing Quality Assurance support for company-wide improvement initiatives.
Taking part in the Problem Solving process with teams from all departments including, Operations, Production, Engineering and Management using recognised industry tools, under the guidence of other Quality Engineers.
Liaising with customers and suppliers regarding quality matters.
Compiling First Article Inspection Reports.
Processing Permit applications.
Assisting with audits.
Assisting the Quality Department in maintaining and operating the Quality Management System.
Collecting and analysing information to identify opportunities for improvement (quality delivery etc.)
To be successful you will be highly analytical, with great attention to detail. You will be concise and accurate in the delivery of information. You will have excellent communication, multi-tasking, organising and planning skills along with the ability to work under pressure and to use your own initiative.
Previous experience of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and some understanding of ISO9001 would be advantageous, although full training will be given in all aspects of the Junior Quality Engineer role.
It is important that candidates are aware that the potential to succeed and attention to detail are likely to be more significant in successful applications than previous experience in a similar role.
