    Role Overview and Responsibilities

    Introduction

    This 4-5 year apprenticeship will develop the next generation of engineers for the growth of the Power Electronics business within TT Electronics. During your apprenticeship you will have both the opportunity to gain a degree in Embedded Electronics and gain a wide range of experience working on real projects from a very early stage. At the end of the apprenticeship you will have a broad view on the operations of the business at Lutterworth and on qualifiaction it is anticipated that you will specialise in supporting either the production or the design and development teams.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities are attainment of level 6 qualification in Embedded Electronics Systems Design & Development + completion of work assigned during apprenticeship placements.

     

    Placements during apprenticeship will include;

    • Production function as operator in assembly, test or screening
    • Process engineering function in production of high reliability power modules and discrete electronic devices
    • Test & screening engineering function : electrical & mechanical testing 
    • Engineering design function in development of new products and technologies in field of power electronics

     

    Short placements are also anticipated to cover;

    • Commercial : sales and/or customer service 
    • Operations : planning and/or purchasing

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    Core Requirements

    Level 3 qualifications (3 A levels or equivalent), including Maths, appropriate for entry to Engineering Degree at De Montfort Unv.

     

    Desireable Skills and Experience

    Enthusiasm, practical, logical thinker, good problem solver, willing to learn and try new things.
