This role is based at Aero Stanrew, our Barnstaple location; part of the Power Electronics division where we employ approximately 250 employees and specialise in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space, and defence industries.

Working as an essential part of the manufacturing team, the Production Operative completes manufacturing operations in accordance with the high quality standards required for flight equipment.
This is a role which requires a strong safety-orientated approach in accordance with TT Electronics “Making Zero Harm Possible” initiatives. It also requires the ability to follow detailed build instructions to a high degree of accuracy. The Production Operative completes tasks within a Quality Accredited environment, in accordance with both General Manufacturing and Aerospace controls.
Completing soldering/assembly/winding operations in accordance with internal documents and/or customer based schedules
Completing light assembly operations using the appropriate hand tools and assembly jigs
Carrying out the moulding/encapsulation of assemblies, involving the handling of chemicals and resins using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
Soldering operations in accordance with IPC 610 Class 3
Proven track record of Safety and working as a willing, competent member of a team
Good Hand-to-eye coordination, and good practical skills
Should be flexible in approach, with willingness to learn new skills
Should be prepared to undertake learning programmes such as IPC 610 as necessary
Close attention to detail, in terms of adhering accurately to internal build instructions or customer specifications
The ability to work in an orderly manner and be organised in approach
Desireable Skills and Experience
Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential
Strong attention to detail
Able to work as part of a team in order to satisfy the needs of schedules and deadlines
