    Role Overview and Responsibilities

    Introduction

     This position will serve as a key interface with Sales, Marketing and Product Management organizations as well as reporting of key Supply metrics directly to business management.    

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and staff the planning organization function. This includes organizational structure, number of staff required, roles and responsibilities of staff, and key skills required. Refine and improve as necessary on an ongoing basis.
    • Establish, document and improve the process for centralized Production Planning & Inventory Management
    • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Production Planning processes, to include SAP configuration and use
    • Develop Production Planning tools and framework, for integrated use with SAP ERP system
    • Develop, execute and maintain tools as well as techniques required to evaluate impact of proposed schedule changes
    • Coordinate and lead usual production meetings to assess actual output versus planned to enable an improved MPS (process)
    • Ensure communication with main stakeholders from Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, Product Management and Supply Chain pertinent to requirements and impacts.
    • Supervise and report actual results against Master Production Schedule
    • Ensure a training plan to enable an effective Production Planning team, via continuous improvement
    • Develop and execute Inventory Control methods and reports to assure accuracy as well as the most cost effective levels
    • Ensure processes are in place to ensure effective Materials Availability to assist production developed schedules
    • Resolve problems plus enhance improvements associated with Inventory Flow plus Production Control
    • Establish and document the process for centralized Capacity Planning 
    • Coordinate with various departments and manage all capacity planning activities
    • Develop or improve Capacity models, or provide recommendations on alternate solutions 
    • Analyze capacity planning and provide appropriate recommendations to enable Capacity to support business plans
    • Ensure Capacity growth is realistic and provide detailed project plans to acheive
    • Manage risk associated to Capacity including support of Maintenance & Repair plans for key equipment
    • Provide oversight of the schedule for all weekly production to ensure effective Capacity 
    • Manage and maintain all system parameters supporting Capacity
    • Design and maintain all performance capacity reports and statistics for management
    • Ensure compliance to all guidelines and ensure optimal utilization of all resources

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    Core Requirements

    • 10 years professional experience managing Production & Capacity Planning, with a minimum of 3 years experience in the electronics manufacturing field.
    • 5 years professional experience using SAP for Production Planning & Control
    • 3 years professional experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP, SIOP or IPB) in a leading Supply role
    • Proven experience in development strategy to enable Operations excellence 
    • Proven track record in delivering Supply which meets Demand, by way of Customer Service 
    • Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills, ability to influence and lead a team indirectly
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting to all levels of management 
    • Bi-lingual: Spanish & English. 

     

    Desireable Skills and Experience

    • Subject Matter Expert in SAP
    • Multiple years as a Master Planner for a successful business
    • Development of custom Capacity Model(s)
    • Ability to motivate employees to demonstrate a sense of urgency
