    Role Overview and Responsibilities

    Based in Carrollton, Texas, this is a newly created role for a Compensation and Benefits Manager. Reporting to the Group Reward Director who is based in the UK, you will be responsible for; guiding and optimizing the compensation and benefit delivery and spend across the Americas (currently USA and Mexico), managing the governance requirements of benefit and retirement programmes, managing the US Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 3rd party relationship management,  and mobility programmes within North America, as well as acting as a true advisor to HR across the Region.

     

    The holder of the role will work across the HR teams to provide subject matter expertise, and will be an experienced professional with a thorough knowledge of USA Federal, state, and local laws impacting compensation and compliance.

     

    This is a great role with a wide scope and requires a top class candidate with previous experience of evolving compensation and benefits practices across the Americas. The role-holder will have the opportunity to shape and develop the role over time.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    Benefit design, Retirement programs and delivery

    • Lead the ongoing design and administration of the US benefits plans across Health and Retirement in line with our reward philosophy, cost parameters and governance channels. While contributing to the strategic review of our US benefits, the role holder will be responsible for owning the developed strategy and managing its delivery through our third party providers.
    • Lead employee well-being programmes across all strands of wellbeing to develop a sustainable plan for delivery across our US sites through our third party providers. It is anticipated that the role holder will also deliver some lunch and learn / webex sessions across the breath of the programs to the HR function and also to the employee base where these are not covered via our third party providers.
    • Manage third party relationships across the US benefit plans and report progress to the wider HR team.
    • Manage and administer the US Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
    • Be the process owner for all Americas compensation and benefits activity.
    • Partner with the HR teams across the region to monitor the effectiveness of benefits and supporting changes as required.
    • Be the subject matter experts across the Americas keeping on top of relevant legislative changes across the region.

     

    Improving Compensation practices

    • Successfully execute Group-wide core compensation processes, including annual merit planning, incentive plan administration and salary surveys.
    • Manage / support the business in establishing and monitoring a competitive compensation and benefit position compared to local markets.
    • Support the organization’s compensation philosophy, role grading and salary bands.
    • Support the governance of incentives, sales incentives and profit share schemes as appropriate.
    • Support the management and administration of company mobility programmes and activities including domestic and international employee relocation programmes, expatriate assignments and immigration requirements.

    Partnering the HR teams

    • Be a trusted advisor to the Divisional HR teams, bringing clarity of thought and innovative solutions to compensation and benefits issues.
    • Share knowledge and best practice within the HR team, and more broadly within the organization to enhance the capability and value of the HR team. 

    Other responsibilities

    • The ideal candidate will get involved with other HR projects as skills, experience, time and interest permit

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    Core Requirements

    • Experience of managing country wide or regional programmes in compensation and benefit
    • A thorough understanding of federal and state regulations, benefits administration, ERISA, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, COBRA and immigration
    • Experience of directly contracting with carriers, vendors and brokers and managing USA health and retirement benefits
    • Experience with fully insured and self-insured benefit plans
    • Experience of global mobility solutions within a similar sized business
    • Analytical with strong numerical capability and attention to detail

    • Manufacturing / Engineering industry experience would be desirable but not essential
