    New Chapel Electronics Ltd, as part of TT Electronics, is a provider of back-shells, electrical harnessing systems and wiring solutions to the Defence and Aerospace Markets. We were established in 1978 in Fairford, Gloucestershire and today our team is almost 70 members strong.

    Role Overview and Responsibilities


    To manage the Purchasing Department with direct line management responsibility for one Junior Buyer and being a mentor, putting in place training plans and capability matrices and supporting their day to day work


    Key Responsibilities

    • Signing of all purchase orders in line with business requirements;
    • Ensuring stock levels are kept to a minimum and reducing MOQ’s;
    • Responsible for the purchasing activity on projects and larger jobs;
    • To manage and develop supplier relationships conducting regular review meetings;
    • Representing purchasing at customer reviews if required and representing site within group procurement;
    • Identify and mitigate supplier risks;
    • Monitor market pricing and identify areas of opportunity and cost savings whilst ensuring compliance with our standards and approvals and any customer specific requirements are flowed down through the supply chain including exports/imports and ITAR requirements;
    • Work in line with control framework and to carry out annual reviews. Prepare all documents required for audits both internal and external;
    • Generate PPV in line with business requirements;
    • Provide the business with reports on supplier spend, PPV and delivery performance on a monthly basis and present to Senior Management in monthly performance reviews;
    • Reduce Vendor Base in line with group targets;
    • Site contact for group purchasing activities ensuring new policies are rolled out through the sites supply chain.

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    Core Requirements

    • To be educated to a degree level or have 5 years’ experience in a similar role;
    • A minimum of 5 Grade C+ GCSE’s;
    • To be proficient in IT packages;
    • Previous experience in Aerospace procurement an advantage; and
    • Experience of supplier relationship management.


    Desireable Skills and Experience

    • A willingness to take ownership;
    • Excellent attention to detail; and

    Good communication skills both verbally and written.
