Role Overview and Responsibilities


As part of the Global Sales Organization, the Commercial Specialist / Commercial Team plays a key role in the company pricing strategy for Sensors & Specialist Components. This role interacts regularly with Sales and Product teams to establish pricing strategies to formulate responses to Requests for Quotation. In this role the successful candidate will make pricing decisions that position us to win business while maximizing profits.


This position will interact with Both Internal and External Customers.


Location: Dallas Area preferred, remote is possible after completion of Training


Key Responsibilities


Respond to Daily RFQ’s for Optoelectronics, Resistors, Power Products (Semelab), and Variables product lines.

 - Make pricing decisions based on established guidelines.


Research and Analyze Major Bid Packages and Volume Price Agreements

  • Review competitive information
  • Compare and analyze previous bids to determine best pricing strategy to win.
  • Solicit from, and provide inputs to, the Product line Directors in a team effort to achieve the most competitive proposal response.
  • Actively participate in the negotiation process.
  • Analyze profit margins
  • Analyze and report final award results.



  • Develop a basic knowledge for all products including Strengths and weaknesses verses our competition thru extensive product training.
  • Gain the ability to cross reference our products to our competitors or gain that information from or engineering team.


Assist with Development and production of Standard price lists and Maintaining Pricing Portal as needed

  • Work with Commercial Executive to complete this action in a timely manner, including periodic updates & revisions.


Ad hoc
• Assisting with Ad hoc activities, including but not limited to:
o Backing up the Commercial Team Leader

o Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements 

  • Graduation from HS Required, University Degree in Business, or other appropriate discipline preferred, or 3 + years of demonstrable combination of applicable work experience & training.
  •  2-3 years of experience in Inside sales, Product Management, or other Pricing role.
  • Basic Knowledge of Electronic Components industry especially Resistors. Power Semiconductors, and /or Optoelectronics Preferred.
  • Excellent Analytical & Strategic Thinking Skills
  • Strong Negotiation Skills
  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Excel required, Expert Level Preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Windows, Outlook, and Power Point. 
  • Exceptional Organizational Skills
  • Active Listening Skills
  • Proficient Basic Math Skills
  • Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Ability to Work with Minimal Supervision as part of a team. Must be a Team Player.
  • Excellent English Language Skills Required. 
  • Desire to Grow within the team and increase skills and responsibility. 
  • Valid Passport or the ability to get one.
  • Ability to travel domestically and /or internationally as needed up to 25% of the time


Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Fluency in German, Spanish, French, or Mandarin (Chinese) is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP & Sales Force (CRM) is a plus
  • Data Base Skills are a plus.
  • Experience Managing Projects and / or People.
