Our Abercynon facility is located in the beautiful South Wales Valleys. As part of the Power Electronics division featuring the AB Connectors brand, we are a recognised market leader in the design and manufacture of connectors and electrical harness systems used in harsh environments for aerospace and defence, transportation and industrial industries. Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction - Role Summary

As the responsible party for IT service delivery in Abercynon, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our technology systems. Additionally, you'll be part of a global virtual team that provides remote assistance to installations across the globe. By delivering a professional IT service based on recognized best practices, you'll support our evolving business goals and contribute to the success of our organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Be the first point of contact for IT issues. Take ownership of IT issues and follow them through to ensure they are complete even if passed to another colleague in the IT team.
  • Work within a virtual team to provide support to staff around the globe with IT issues and escalating where necessary to other teams. You are responsible for any escalated calls and will ensure that these are resolved acceptably to both parties. 
  • Support local systems such as storage, telecoms and networking. 
  • Manage company phone systems and time clock systems. 
  • Responsible to ensure adequate backups are completed.
  • Minitor the availability of global systems through existing portals and log, resolve and escalate issues. 
  • Providing technical assistance to computer users on the application software, hardware and computer services.
  • Responsible for IT hardware and software inventory.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers on the software, hardware, telecommunication for leased line and telephone system to maintain proper relationship for better maintenance and support for local systems. 

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of ITIL service management and process execution is a benefit.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems.
  • Knowledge of VMware Vsphere infrastructure would be beneficial.
  • English is the language of TT and ability to communicate in English is required.
