Role Overview and Responsibilities

Position Purpose:

Performs duties required to complete a variety of high accuracy tests on samples of resistors as required by manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and quality control to assure the manufacture of high quality product.

Position Duties/Essential Elements:


Must be highly reliable and responsible individual capable of managing workloads and prioritizing multiple work streams of material coming into the lab.


Become thoroughly familiar with routine military/commercial test specifications to review incoming work for special requirements and execute tasks with little oversight.


Maintain mil conformance test programs, filing of resulting data, and preparation/submittal of resulting reports.


Preparation/maintenance of various test reports pertaining to TT Electronics product performance and qualifications.


Set up equipment to be used for testing as determined by the specification & test procedure.


Log in samples to be tested and review test requirements using specification books and test procedures to determine equipment and setups to be used and schedule testing accordingly.


MUST be able to read electrical schematics and calculate correct voltage, as determined by unit styles, wattage ratings, time and maximum voltage as required by test specification and test procedures.


MUST be able to set up applicable test equipment to be used as determined by specification book and test procedures such as load life, DC resistance, thermal shock, temperature co-efficient, moisture resistance, low temperature storage operation, screening, burn-in Solderability, terminal strength, STOL, dielectric strength, insulation resistance, high temperature exposure and other special test setup as required.


Will maintain log and record resistance readings before and after each test and use these readings to make calculations of percentage change in resistance.


MUST be able to analysis and interpret test reporting data to ensure all readings are accurate; will be required to report any testing anomalies to engineering to determine any required actions to be taken before test.


Perform checks of life power supply voltage and oven temperature of prescribed items.


MUST be able to work around high voltage applications and follow proper safety procedures.

Assist in the construction of test fixturing.


Burn-in high voltage products, which include resistance readings, temperature cycle power and conditioning, test; set up test schedule, make maximum utilization of power supplies and ovens.


Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to proper supervision. May be asked to work or perform minor repairs such as oven belt replacements, temp controller changes, filter replacements and any other repair to be determined to be minor by management representative.


Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.


Other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor.






Work from verbal instruction, specification books and test procedures. Use a wide variety of electrical equipment, digital ohmmeter, cold chamber, hot ovens, calculators, special pull strength test, moisture cabinet, variety of soldering irons; solder dip pot and numerous other miscellaneous test equipment and simple hand tools. Use computerized data logger to make resistance measurements.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes


Associates in Electronics is preferred. Position requires knowledge of test procedures for performance of various tests; knowledgeable of computer systems and the utilization of various software.


Work Authorization – TT Electronics is an ITAR compliant facility requiring employees to hold citizenship and/or green card.
