Role Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary

 

The Engineering Technician II develops and improves products and manufacturing processes by working collaboratively with Engineering and Production team members.

 

Key Responsibilities include

  • Creates and modifies work instructions and operating procedures, as needed.
  • Plans and implements new programs and products into production in a timely and cost- effective manner.
  • Defines, designs, and drafts tooling and manufacturing requirements for new and existing programs.
  • Provides technical support to the production team for immediate corrective actions.
  • Leads LEAN project teams, as needed, to drive continuous improvement efforts.

Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Two-year degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years’ of related work experience is required.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings is required.
  • Strong written and verbal skills so as to communicate technical issues with varied internal and external audience members is required. Proficient technical writing and documentation skills, as well as a strong detail orientation, are required.
  • Demonstrated analytical expertise is required, including adeptness at root cause identification.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D CAD packages; Experience with Adobe In-Design is preferred.
  • Working knowledge at an intermediate level of the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Experience implementing Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Prior experience with an ISO-9000 AS-9100 environment is preferred.
  • Meets vision requirements specified by quality management system.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
