TT Electronics’ Bedlington facility north of Newcastle upon Tyne is the home of two TT Electronics divisions; Sensors & Specialist Components and Power Electronics. Sensors & Specialist Components are leaders in high reliability, high performance and engineered electronic components. Power Electronics provide custom power solutions for safety-critical applications in harsh environments. The team in Bedlington specialises in microcircuit production for the aerospace and defence industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

At TT Electronics in Bedlington (Newcastle), we work with customers across the aerospace, defence, medical and industrial sectors designing and producing high-reliability electronics to help them solve challenging problems around the world. You might have heard of some of our customers; Rolls Royce, Dyson, Honeywell, GE, Schneider Electric, BAE Systems and Siemens to name a few.

 

As part of our commitment to our Power Electronics customers and Quality Standards ISO9001 and ISO14001 and the newly updated aerospace AS9100 (Rev D) standards, we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a talented Electrical Manufacturing Quality team.

Key Responsibilities

The job will consist of the usual manufacturing quality engineer responsibilities such as auditing systems and processes for compliance and effectiveness, provision of leadership & guidance to our technician and junior team members, continuous improvement of our Quality Management System, meet and encourage our manufacturing teams to meet our company KPIs incorporating quality, participating in review meetings and updating documentation. In addition there’s a focus on continuous improvement as we go through significant change as an organisation and problem solving solutions through the use of Quality Improvement tools, trend analysis and techniques such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D and Mistake Proofing.

 

Majority of this role will be spent in Bedlington, although on occasion there may be a requirement to visit customers, suppliers or training venues and may involve national or international travel.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

Experienced in Manufacturing Quality Engineering.

Degree educated (preferably electrical / electronic engineering discipline) or equivalent demonstrable experience or vocational training.

Certificated Auditor (AS9100, TS16949 or ISO9001:2015 standards)

 

Desireable Skills and Experience

Aerospace knowledge
