TT Electronics’ Minneapolis, Minnesota facility, is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of custom and standard magnetic components and assemblies. The Minneapolis-based site has over 50 years of design experience and specializes in the creation of innovative and sophisticated solutions for solving customer magnetic technology needs. We use cutting-edge materials and state-of-the-art design technology to deliver products across a broad range of industries including renewable energy, medical device, aerospace/aviation/automotive, electronics, food processing, instrumentation, industrial control, telecommunications and HVAC applications.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Team Lead directs teams on 1st shift regarding overall Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.  Leads lines in meeting efficiences, job set-up, training, work direction and provides feedback on performance improvement and reviews.  Leads continuous improvement projects as needed.  

 

The essential functions of this role include:

  • Plans, directs, and assigns jobs from production schedule to team members.  Including proper allocation of employee's skills to match with job requirements.
  • Provides input on team members performance evaluations and assists in presenting performance evaluations.
  • Provides disciplinary actions in the absence of or the assitance of the Production Supervisor.
  • Oversees all manufacturing production functions including quality checks and assures compliance with all regulations and good workmanship standards; in the absence of quality, completes the quality checks.
  • Prior to the job start dates, reviews the jobs with the team members scheduled to perform the jobs.  Assists in line balancing as needed.
  • Aides in the review of documentaion for accuracy and completeness.
  • Drives line safety actions and partners with EHS for accident investigations.
  • Aides in the development, implementation, and supports system to achieve cost reduction, quality improvements, increased productivity, and improved customer satisfaction.
  • Champions a people focused, solutions oriented, continuous improvement minded culture.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • A two year degree or equivalent job experience required
  • A minimum with 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment, previous leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of ISO requirements, quality audits and corrective action
  • Ability to lead people, give work direction and feedback regarding perfomance improvement and recognition of strong work performance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, verbal, or diagram form instructions
  • Ability to use calipers and other measuring devices
  • Ability to effectively deal with challenges and provide solutions involving multiples departments and skill levels
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Demonstrated flexibility to move from one job to the next in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
