Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

The purpose of this role is to sustain and profitably grow business at named accounts, identify and develop new accounts that align with the business’ strategic vision, contribute to the annual strategic sales plan in creation and execution, provide field intelligence to define a winning product and marketing strategy, and train and hold accountable channel partners while working cross-functionally for the best business outcomes.

 

This role is remote/travel required.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify suitable target accounts that meet the long-term business strategy including profitability and deal size.
  • Develop and present to targeted accounts suitable solutions to win new business.
  • Support and grow existing business within the territory.
  • Train, lead, and motivate sales representatives and/or distributor during the entire sales cycle.
  • Have market and customer intelligence ensuring price to win, application, competitive landscape, decision makers, and more are known and communicated prior to consideration.
  • Secure the win from the customer assuring contract terms are acceptable to the business.
  • Lead and facilitate implementation of key initiatives as requested (ex. commercial actions).
  • Facilitate resolution of customer objections which may negatively affect the business.
  • For the assigned territory, assist with setting goals, determine appropriate actions, and measure.
  • Attend selected exhibitions, tradeshows, industry events and other as requested.
  • Develop and maintain accurate account plans for all strategically identified customers.
  • Work closely and maintain respectful professional relationships with internal team members.
  • Provide timely reports, weekly or as required, to satisfy the smooth running of the business.
  • Detailed knowledge of market region including prospective opportunities in all target markets.
  • Responsible for resolving open customer supplier financial issues including past due payments, material and labor variances, and obsolete and excess material.
  • Responsible to ensure all new business opportunities meet the financial requirements established by Sales Director of the business.
  • Travel, as required up to 65%, and in reasonable way, to support customer and sales channel development.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

  • Ability to work independently, during specified work hours, being self-directed to achieve business goals.
  • Must be passionate about not only personal but also team success having a “do what it takes” work ethic.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with methodical but fast paced approach to achieve results.
  • Skilled to identify customer needs, recommend a matching elegant solution(s), quantify the “value” of meeting those needs, ensuring said value meets minimum business metrics, and successfully closing the deal as a WIN.
  • Must be professional and accurate.
  • Develop and present professional proposals (quotes, presentations, training, etc.).
  • Demonstrated an electrical and mechanical aptitude / understanding.
  • Must be comfortable working with business functions: sales, engineering, supply chain, operations, finance, etc.
  • IT skills within Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point),  CRM systems, SAGE business system.
  • Have a professional and accurate approach to work.
  • Disciplined, responsible, enthusiastic and be dependable to the extended team.

 

Desireable Skills and Experience

  • An understanding of low-to-mid range power supply products.
  • Field experience in the medical devices industry.
  • Experience in a “solution sell” environment.
  • Understanding of 8D methodology and involvement to resolve a customer issue.
  • Skilled negotiator and ability to find ‘price to win’.
  • Knowledgeable to create professional presentation for region and customer events.
