TT Electronics’ Minneapolis, Minnesota facility, is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of custom and standard magnetic components and assemblies. The Minneapolis-based site has over 50 years of design experience and specializes in the creation of innovative and sophisticated solutions for solving customer magnetic technology needs. We use cutting-edge materials and state-of-the-art design technology to deliver products across a broad range of industries including renewable energy, medical device, aerospace/aviation/automotive, electronics, food processing, instrumentation, industrial control, telecommunications and HVAC applications.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The EHS Specialist serves as the site lead for all aspects related to Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability.  The essential duties of the role include:

  • Develops, implements, and monitors programs and procedures to ensure total compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Investigates all incidents/injuries, maintains statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas.
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Facillites include the Minnesota and Colorado sites.
  • Performs regular safety audits and hazards assessments throughout the facility reporting results and following up to ensure discrepancies are corrected. Assists in communicating hazard control information and evaluates effectiveness of the controls.
  • Acts as primary contact in dealing with regulatory agencies, and trains management to understand HSE regulations and standards including, but not limited to, OSHA, TCEQ, EPA, IATA, DOT and ISO14001.
  • Develops training materials and conducts HSE training; including, but not limited to, new hire orientation, SDS utilization, LOTO, Hot Work, emergency procedures, workplace safety, etc..
  • Serves as chair for site safety and sustainability committee.
  • Leads company sustainability initiatives.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company and monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health or related field OR related experience. 
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
