Role Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) Intern. This internship will provide valuable exposure to various aspects of HSE practices within our organization and is designed for students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in the field. As an HSE Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the HSE team in implementing and maintaining safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. 

 

Essential Duties: 

  • Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of HSE policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with HSE regulations
  • Participate in the identification and evaluation of workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measures
  • Support incident investigations, including collecting and analyzing data, and identifying root causes to prevent future occurrences
  • Assist in development and delivery of HSE training programs for employees
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure HSE requirements are integrated into daily operations
  • Assist in the compilation and analysis of HSE data, preparing reports, and presenting findings to management
  • Stay up to date with current HSE regulations, permits, and records in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of a strong safety culture by organizing safety campaigns, events, and awareness programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university
  • Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a bachelor’s degree program
  • Basic knowledge of project management processes and tools
  • Basic knowledge of EH&S regulations, workplace hazards, and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct through inspections and audits
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write and communicate technical information clearly and concisely
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Hands-on experience through project teams or previous jobs
