Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer Technician requires a technical background coupled with good communication skills and a fundamental understanding of electronic manufacturing processes.  The job requirements will focus on working with the Manufacturing Engineer in developing and documenting manufacturing processes that improve labor efficiency and quality, and reduce work in-process, scrap, material handling and overall manufacturing costs.  Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to design of tooling and fixtures, support of the production floor, etc.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Has some experience in manufacturing environment
  • Has knowledge of tools and equipment used in manufacturing
  • Understands and follows ESD requirements of area
  • Can interpret and build from assembly drawings and specifications
  • Has good communication and interactive skills
  • Has fundamental knowledge of manufacturing principles and concepts
  • Can assist manufacturing engineering when needed
  • Can effectively interface with other engineering departments
  • Has good organizational skills
  • Has experience in Windows based software (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Can incorporate mark-ups into manufacturing documentation packages
  • Comfortable with multiple computer systems

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Qualifications:

 

  • Maintain confidentiality and have good judgment.
  • Exhibit high ethical standards and promote the same within the company
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering programs.
  • Attend various training classes to ensure adequate knowledge of company specific information, customer, regulatory, and other requirements as determined by job process, standard operating procedures or other elements as required.
