Role Overview and Responsibilities

2nd Shift Monday – Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am

 

Summary:  The Test Engineering Technician requires a strong technical background coupled with good communication skills and an understanding of the electronic manufacturing process.  The job requirements focus on test system debug, mechanical and electrical fixture builds, fixture maintenance, and test procedure development for In-Circuit Test, Functional Test, and Cable Assembly Test.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Test Engineering Manager and Test Engineers with their activities.
  • Develop, assemble and debug functional test fixtures and cable harness test solutions, along with supporting ICT fixture evaluation and maintenance.
  • Help develop electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Develop and register test procedures.
  • Interpret customer schematics and test procedures to deploy a production-ready test solution.
  • Work directly with customer engineers to evaluate failure modes or test fixture issues.
  • Research and debug quality issues as they relate to test processes to establish root cause failure mode.
  • Use test equipment such as digital multimeter, AC or DC power supplies, oscilloscope, frequency counters, signal generators to debug and document test processes.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Education/Experience/Credentials:  Associate of Applied Science in Electronics or other Engineering discipline or three years of experience in related functions.

Language Ability:  Excellent communication both written and verbal.  Ability to read and write reports, analyze periodicals, business reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, Team Members and the general public.  The Individual must possess strong skills in grammar and proofreading.

 

Math Ability:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as averages, standard deviation, proportions, percentages.  Understand Boolean Logic, binary, hexadecimal and octal numbering systems as well as utilize general algebraic and geometric tools.

 

Computer Skills:  Ability to use office software, including Word processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Slide Presentations, Internet browsers, E-mail, and business systems software.
