Introduction

This position will work with large magnetics.  The Manufacturing Engineering Technician-Large Magnetics will assist engineering and manufacturing in prototype and product development and assist engineering in creating and developing/maintaining product work instructions and material specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists engineering and manufacturing in the development/manufacture of prototypes and other select product.
• Assists in developing work instructions and documenting procedures based on prototype design information and manufacturing results.
• Assists in improvement of work instructions and manufacturing methods.
• Trains others as required in critical manufacturing processes.
• Works as part of a team to reduce waste and improve product flow.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Capable of working some occasional overtime as required.
• Other duties as required and/or assigned.

• Self-starter who can innovatively work to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrates conceptual thinking skills.
• Attention to detail a critical attribute.
• Working knowledge of quality practices.
• Understands what Lean Manufacturing entails.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Two to three years of required training and/or experience.
• Meets vision requirements specified by quality management system.
• Must have the ability to twist, push, and pull materials and equipment associated with large magnetic assemblies of up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Maximum occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
