TT Electronics’ Bedlington facility north of Newcastle upon Tyne is the home of two TT Electronics divisions; Sensors & Specialist Components and Power Electronics. Sensors & Specialist Components are leaders in high reliability, high performance and engineered electronic components. Power Electronics provide custom power solutions for safety-critical applications in harsh environments. The team in Bedlington specialises in microcircuit production for the aerospace and defence industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Main Duties

  • Guide and direct operators regarding the improvement and implementation of work methods to ensure correct build and quality is continuously improved, leading to ultimate customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote business work ethics, teamwork and general culture of change and flexibility within all team members to drive the continuous improvement initiative within the business.
  • Coordinate training plans in order to ensure all new and existing employees within the operations department receive any training as necessary to ensure flexibility.
  • Ensure HSE requirements are implemented, maintained and standards are adhered to.
  • Ensure all relevant production documentation is available and updated as required. E.g. Operator Instructions
  • Actively work to reduce scrap levels and improve RFT.
  • On a daily basis, monitor and manage absence and lateness, ensuring relevant records or updated and RTW interviews take place on the day of return.
  • Ensure all employees are aware of the company policies, rules, and procedures and are adhered to.
  • Planning and leading of production and process delivery.
  • Reviewing production schedules and adjusting as necessary to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Ensure operations are consistently delivered within target times and costs.
  • Ensuring capacity and coverage meet demand within standard hours.
  • Providing hands-on operational process coverage where/when required.
  • Participating in quality and process internal and external audits where required.
  • Lead daily team briefs to communicate performance against SQDCP metrics.
  • Present SQDCP metrics to support functions and management daily.
  • Deliver annual appraisals to operators to enhance employee engagement.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Skills & Knowledge

 

  • A collaborative approach and be able to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, documentation, and time management experience.
  • Have worked in a fast-paced Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent environment.
  • Ideally have knowledge of LEAN manufacturing procedures.
  • Ideally have a management, engineering, or process improvement qualification.
