Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

To support the organisation at all stages of the supply chain to ensure that the material flow throughout the site supports planned production and all related functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

Generate MRP for Key suppliers/Commodities.
• Assist with projects & RFQ generation.
• Negotiates and agrees pricing with Suppliers.
• Raise and manage EC orders.
• Manage invoice queries.
• Obtaining and transacting into MRP, the weekly expedite reports and acknowledgements from suppliers.
• Generating and reviewing the monthly shortage report.
• Identifying and reporting to both operational staff and the Purchasing Manager any risk in the supply chain that may impact on the ability to manufacture to plan.
• Ensure Quality standards are rigorously applied to all tasks completed and take an active role in identifying issues which may affect the quality of your own work or the work of others.
• Adhere to all policy and legislative requirements in respect of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

 

Broad understanding of the requirements of high volume buying within electronics industry.
• Experienced in the negotiation and agreement of prices with suppliers.
• Full understanding of Quality standards and that they are applied to all aspects of the purchasing role.
• Previous demonstrable experience in buying/MRP.
• Able to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers.
• Numerate, accurate with an attention to detail.
• Excellent PC skills, including MS Office, Excel.
• Able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision.

 

Desireable Skills and Experience

 

• Possess CIPS certification.
