Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

The Test Technician will be responsible for testing Sub-assembly and Final assembly items in accordance with defined Test Procedures and / or relevant Manufacturing and Test Instructions. In cases of a failure being identified in a new or a returned (Service) item, the Test Technician will be required to diagnose and analyse the failure down to component level, to instruct the assembly team on the required dis-assembly and re-assembly, and the component, sub-assembly repair.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Sub and Top assemblies to support Manufacturing process.
  • Diagnosing and analysing failures down to component level.
  • Completion of Test Reports and Records in accordance with defined Test procedures.
  • Support Design and NPI teams in developing Test schedules for new products.
  • Perform test equipment maintenance as defined within the appropriate maintenance procedures.
  • Compose and edit test procedures and instructions, if required.
  • Design and build bespoke test equipment, cabling, fixtures, tooling, etc.
  • Support Avionics Test and Environmental Test.
  • Support other areas of the business.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

Desireable Skills and Experience

  • HNC or equivalent level (Preferable).
  • Engineering / Technical experience in Electronics Assembly, Testing and Diagnostics.
  • Understanding of drawings and the schematics of products to trace the root cause of a failure.
  • Excellent cross functional team working skills.
  • Possesses self-motivational drive and commitment.
  • Microsoft office suite experience.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work additional hours / shifts upon requirement.
