Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

Providing technical support for products within the Operations function.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain).
  • Support the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
  • Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries.
  • Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
  • Presenting change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority.
  • Support the implementation of fresh, cost effective, best practice technological methods which enhances operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain constant self-learning and development routines.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements and Skills and Experience

  • Ability to problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
  • Must be an experienced engineer from a similar industry, able to demonstrate multi functional engineering competence.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles and process variation– Green Belt desirable.
  • Understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and able to implement – OEE , Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e. Kaizen.
  • Have a solid understanding of APQP so to assist members of NPI Team.
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent cross functional team working skills.
  • Possesses self-motivational drive and commitment.
  • Strong participant in cross functional teams supporting Manufacturing.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Be proactive using methods so to prevent failures within Customer/Production – PFMEA or Ishikawa.
