Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Program Manager you will be a key member of a cross-functional team and oversee and coordinate various projects to achieve program objectives.

 

  • Stakeholder management.
  • Responsible for day-to-day execution of program(s), including but not limited to cross-functional decision making, task and schedule management, issue resolution and escalation, requirements management, and risk management.
  • Manage proposals, design and development of current programs, and new product introduction programs.
  • Conduct program reviews to ensure product elements meet contractual and business requirements.
  • Lead definition of program management plans (e.g. scope management plan, schedule management plan, budget, risk management plan, requirements management plan, quality management plan, etc.).
  • Achieve program objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Prepare and complete action plans.
  • Drive implementation of production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Resolve problems, complete audits, identify trends, determine system improvements, and implement changes as required.
  • Ensure financial objectives are met by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Manage product development processes including all phases of development, phase gate exit reviews and release to production.
  • Lead work breakdown structure definition, cost estimation, risk estimation, and high-level schedule creation.
  • Interpret RFP requirements and lead the creation of proposal approach and content.
  • Provide monthly budget, schedule, and status updates to management for review and direction.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Required Education/Experience/Credentials:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of program management or related technical experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of program management or related technical experience.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-million-dollar projects or programs.
  • Experience managing and directing design and development activity across multiple functions.
  • Strong decision making and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members and communicate with all levels of the organization.

Preferred Education/Experience/Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Experience leading cross functional product teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience in related DoD (Department of Defense) project/program management.
