TT Electronics’ Olathe, Kansas facility, is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of custom magnetic products and assemblies. The Olathe-based site has 65 years’ experience in the design and development of unique harsh-environment solutions for mission-critical applications.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

The Production Manager has broad responsibility and leadership for the overall operation of a value stream against daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations. This role implements company initiatives to ensure a safe working environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified workforce, and reduce operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvement. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the value stream in daily operations and continuous improvements which include, but are not limited to, supply chain production control and establishing manufacturing priorities.
  • Creates the basis for continuous improvement and team member empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are followed, counter measures are implemented, and the value stream is in compliance with safety requirements. This role works with the Continuous Improvement Leader to implement TWI across the value stream.
  • Instills and maintains a positive team atmosphere within the value stream by holding regular team meetings. Meets with direct reports on a regular basis to identify problems and proactively select – and implement – solutions to problems and challenges.  Has the ability to assess and develop individual – and team – skills and capabilities.  Serves as a role model for promoting new ideas and positive change.
  • Ensures Value Stream Leaders provide effective cross-training for team members, including backups from other areas, to ensure a continuously smooth-running value stream.
  • Actively monitors the value stream’s costs analysis, product line margin, and manufacturing productivity.
  • Works closely with other Company team members to develop the future state of the value stream map, as well as manages the plans to achieve this desired future state.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Competencies

  • Demonstrated team work and team building skills in producing results by meeting operational objectives is require.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

 

Desireable Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent, and three-to-five years of major professional accomplishments of increasing responsibility, size, scope, and complexity.
  • Prior exposure to the various aspects of value stream management strongly preferred.  This includes, but is not limited to, accounting, manufacturing, human resources management, computer skills, inventory control, and strategic planning.
  • Previous financial knowledge (i.e, profit and loss statements) is strongly preferred.
  • Prior involvement with LEAN process improvement implementation is strongly preferred.
  • Meets vision requirements specified by quality management system.
