Role Overview and Responsibilities

Full-Time

Starting pay up to $18.00/hr, based upon experience

 

Introduction

The Shipping Clerk will be a team player, will possess a strong sense of customer service, and will be able to prioritize workload efficiently, as well as keeping the shipping area neat and tidy. Daily goals will be achieved by the timely receiving of WIP to Finished Goods (FG), determining appropriate shipments, and shipping the goods safely. Maintaining a well-organized, well-labeled FG stock area is of critical importance and will reduce time required to locate needed parts. All FG stock will be stored in a manner appropriate to eliminate potential damage.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Finished Goods receipts daily from production by prepacking and staging when possible.
    Labels and stores FG inventory in orderly manner by transferring to a Lewis bin with lid, when available, avoiding potential damage to the part.
  • Research inventory and shipping discrepancies to resolve shipping issues and work to prevent shipping errors.
  • Work with Sales department and Ops Manager to resolve any SO and Shipping discrepancies.
  • Pulls FG parts required to fulfill the day’s shipments, always filling from oldest stock to newest.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of packaging material and provide notification to Inventory Supervisor when levels reach a reorder point.
  • Be a reliable employee that can work independently.
  • Maintains a high standard and meets deadlines.
  • Be a team player and consistently work well with others.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Performs daily cycle counts and turn into Supervisor.
  • Reads and follows procedures.
  • Be productive working in a repetitive job.
    Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma preferred, but not required.
  • Two to three years related to experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong Computer Skills (experience using ERP systems, MS Excel, MS Word)
  • Familiarity with 3rd party systems (UPS, FEDEX, DHL) is a plus
  • Experience in International shipping with customs paperwork is preferred
  • Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills
  • Integrity and leadership skills
  • Exemplary customer care skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and multitasking skills
