Role Overview and Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

  • The Vice President of Operations is a senior-level role leading high profile operational programs
  • Works with our site operations teams to drive sustainable improvements which will include addressing KPIs, efficiency, talent, footprint and ultimately customer satisfaction
  • Brings insight and structure while focusing on operational priorities that will improve employee engagement, customer satisfaction and ultimately profitability

Reports to: SVP, North America & EVP Operations

 

Indirect Reports: Site Operations Leaders (6)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identification, development and timely completion of key operational improvement programs, typically across sites where there is the greatest opportunity and/or risk.
  • Meet and exceed key operational targets in the region, including OTTP at 96+ and <1000 DPPM with a focus on right first time and therefore reducing cost of poor quality (COPQ).
  • Works with the Operations Function to develop KPIs, ensuring effective monitoring and action tracking.
  • Supports footprint projects, including capability acquisition and development.
  • Ensures effective governance for key operational improvement programs, typically focused on efficiency improvement, scrap reduction and inter-site integration.
  • Manages forecasts, objectives, and targets, ensuring we meet our business growth goals.
  • Identifies opportunities by partnering with stakeholders to identify and implement best practice.
  • Promotes industry-leading safety standards, ensuring continuous improvement principles such as 5S enable a safer workplace.
  • Supports and lead on ensuring margin progression targets are met as well as acting as point of escalation for critical operational risks and opportunities.
  • An ambassador and flag-bearer for the TT Brand, acting as a key figurehead in promoting our capability within and outside of the North America region.
  • Occasionally works on global initiatives, representing the North America region relative to key programs such as sustainability.
  • Actively collaborates and influences others to ensure sites are working to further integrate their capabilities and establish best practices, influencing by doing as well as through coaching.
  • Providing interim/ emergency cover for Site Directors as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

  • Subject matter expert for operations including but not limited to; all elements of SIOP, Supply chain management, LEAN/six sigma with the ability to coach, lead and execute
  • Proven experience in driving operational improvements at senior levels in an organization
  • Ability to lead and inspire a large operational team, ensuring collaboration and success.
  • Action orientated, with a focus on identifying and closing key programs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, maintaining positive relationships and persuading and influencing both inside and outside the company.
  • Adaptable and open to new ideas, with the ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
  • Flexible to support the region as required, including regular travel to key sites for project durations
  • Strong emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills to resolve operational issues effectively.
  • Must have a proven track record of partnering with internal team members to implement operational improvements
  • Ability to mentor and coach HiPo individuals within the operations function

Qualifications and Experience

  • BS in Engineering, Business Administration or related field, MS/MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in senior level leadership roles in operations

 

Key Measures & Milestons: 

  • Site Dynamo targeted efficiency savings achieved
  • Generation and achievement of site based OpEx programs and targets
  • Deployment and adoption of all identified functional initiatives (eg: demand management, inventory management)
