Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

The Potting and Impregnation Operative will the support the Potting and Impregnation Team Lead in the process of potting, encapsulation assembly and impregnation process.  We operate a 39 hour week, Monday to Thursdays.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Competent execution of defined processes for potting, encapsulation assembly & impregnation in accordance with associated risk assessments
  • Competent use of Ovens, Vacuum chambers and associated tooling
  • Able to create mould tools and ad hoc jigs in association with processing product
  • Able to assemble product into jigs and fixtures conforming to drawings build standards & specifications
  • Safe storage, Control & use of chemicals associated with the potting, encapsulation assembly & impregnation process
  • Competent working to specifications, build standards and data sheets
  • Competent in the use of weighing scales and measuring equipment both analogue & digital

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Demonstrate safe personal behaviour at all times.
  • Ensure yourself and others in your working areas are safe and not exposed to significant risk.
  • Working in a 6S mindset ensure area is clean tidy & safe
  • Support the creation of risk assessments where required
  • Ensure that support operators are trained to the specified work instruction and relevant risk assessments.
  • Ensure that the H&S reporting system is being followed.
  • Empowered to highlight anybody not wearing safety shoes and glasses where required.
  • Ensure that all near misses and accidents are recorded and analysed for root cause and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure manufacturing operation is compliant with the relevant legislation and TT roadmaps.
  • Participate in departmental inspections & audits.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

  • Personal Safety & controls in the relation to Ovens, Pumps & Vacuum chambers
  • Lock out & control of equipment
  • Competent in the use, setup & daily maintenance of Weighing Scales, Ovens, Pumps & Vacuum chambers used in the process
  • Safe Usage & Control of Chemicals
  • Magnetic Product Manufacture background
  • Understanding of metric & imperial measurements using weighing scales, gauges & tools such as micrometer, vernier and dial gauges
  • Understanding & competent in Ovens, Pumps & Vacuum chambers
  • Understanding & competent in the usage of various test equipment in relation to the potting, encapsulation & Impregnation process
  • Basic use of ERP system
