Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Program Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of new product development projects from concept through first shipment of production parts. As part of these duties, they will collaborate directly with customers and internal teams including NPI, Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Quality and Finance to ensure that program deliverables are met on schedule.

  • Defines the scope and schedule of projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Manages risk by identifying and assesses hazards in terms of probability and severity and then proactively implementing controls to mitigate those risks.
  • Creates and executes a detailed project plan which identifies dependencies, constraints, critical path, and all activities needed to meet the scope and customer requirements for the project.
  • Develops and executes a detailed schedule to successfully complete the project deliverables on schedule, in scope, and in accordance with all customer processes and requirements.
  • Establishes a communication schedule to update internal and external stakeholders as to project progress.
  • Develops forms and records to document project activities. Sets up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
  • Interacts with clients in a clear, concise, and professional manner, to effectively meet project deadlines and requirements.
  • Escalates issues to appropriate stakeholders as needed.
  • Reviews work quality with the project team regularly to ensure project standards are met.
  • Evaluates expected project outcomes as established during the planning phase and develops with the project team Lessons Learned for future projects risk mitigation.
  • Control schedule, cost and scope creep.
  • Manage whole program with standard program management tools.
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Business (or related field) required.
  • Three to five years of relevant and related work experience preferred.
  • Experience in a new product development preferred.
  • Experience with associated medical device industry a plus.
  • Experience with magnetics and power supply products a plus.
  • Knowledge of project management is required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple, simultaneous projects and priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and an interest in supporting business development initiatives along with strong customer orientation.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail is required. Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people is required.
  • Commitment to work with a hands-on approach in a team atmosphere is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar required.
  • Cost account management.
