Introduction
The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving sustainable business growth by maximising opportunities with existing customers through strong relationship management, commercial excellence, and programme delivery. The role oversees the Programmes Team and Quotes Team, ensuring seamless management of customer programmes, and effective bid management. A key focus will be on developing long-term strategic partnerships with core customers in the Aerospace & Defence (A&D) sector, creating value-driven, commercially robust solutions that support mutual growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Customer Growth & Relationship Management
o Build, nurture, and expand long-term strategic partnerships with core customers.
o Identify opportunities to grow within existing programmes and develop new product or programme opportunities in the A&D sector.
o Act as the primary point of contact for senior customer stakeholders, ensuring trust and transparency.
• Commercial Strategy & Delivery
o Develop and execute commercial strategies that enhance profitability, sustainability, and growth within existing accounts.
o Lead contract renegotiations and bid management to secure favourable terms aligned with business objectives.
o Ensure customer programmes are delivered to commercial, financial, and quality expectations.
• Team Leadership & Development
o Lead and manage the Programmes Team and Quotes Team, ensuring clear direction, accountability, and delivery against objectives.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement within the teams.
o Provide guidance to ensure commercial best practices are embedded across programme and bid management activities.
• Financial & Risk Management
o Monitor and analyse financial performance of customer programmes to ensure profitability and cost control.
o Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across bids and ongoing customer programmes.
• Market Awareness & Representation
o Maintain deep knowledge of A&D sector trends, customer developments, and competitor activities.
o Represent the business at industry forums, customer reviews, and networking events to strengthen market position.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven commercial management experience within Aerospace & Defence or a related sector.
• Strong track record in customer relationship management, particularly with long-term strategic accounts.
• Expertise in programme and bid management, with ability to negotiate and secure commercially favourable agreements.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong financial and analytical acumen with the ability to manage budgets, assess risks, and drive profitability.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and clients.
• Results-driven, proactive, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
