Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Implements the most effective and efficient manufacturing methods by coordinating with other departments and production team members. Plays a key role in all manufacturing cost reduction projects and daily projects. Serves as a champion to ensure lean manufacturing and 5S principles are implemented and followed. Assures work areas and equipment at facilities are set up in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Plans and implements new programs and products into production in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensures compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations, working with Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor as needed.
  • Reviews set-up process on first production runs identifying potential problems with quality scrap, efficiencies, and tooling.
  • Works with Design Engineering team to correct issues related to design.
  • Resolves, as assigned, problems with tooling, process capability, materials and efficiencies.
  • Follows workmanship standards working with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
  • Assists in installing and set-up of new equipment. Identifies and provides cost and operational justification for new equipment and tooling needs
  • Execute, and conduct maintenance of production equipment, lighting, HVAC, plumbing and structural equipment in production and office areas in facility. Insures documentation in third party maintenance software.
  • Provides technical support to the production team to resolve concerns or problems with tooling, process capability, materials and efficiencies.
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Zero to five years of experience in Manufacturing Engineer Intern, Manufacturing Engineer or Industrial Engineer role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in Medical Device manufacturing a plus.
  • Preferred certifications: Green Belt and/or CSWA.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, testing requirements, basic schematics, winding tables, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Basic understanding of ISO.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Enjoys and thrives working within a team environment.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Salary range is approximately USD $66,655.00 - USD $90,565.00 to include a full range of benefits to include medical, dental, 401(k), life insurance, disability, plus more.
