Role Overview and Responsibilities

Reporting to the America Sales Director, the Field Applications Engineer position will provide technical support to the Americas Region. The FAE will work closely with the Sales organization; Manufacturers’ Reps and Distributor Field Sales Teams to identify opportunities and drive NBO closure. In addition, this position will support existing customers and current sales; provide technical training for all partners and customers as needed and provide input on NPI opportunities and Market Development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface between the Resistors product group and OEM customers; Distributors and Manufacturers’ Reps.
  • Make sales calls to OEM accounts and distributors, working closely with design engineers.
  • Training of Distributor field application engineers and product managers.
  • Technical presentations and training at customers, distributors, manufacturers’ representative offices, and conferences.
  • Provide field design engineering support where appropriate and qualified.
  • Provide technical/commercial assistance for NBO’s to include pre and post awarded updates and assurance of data integrity in SalesForce.com
  • Investigate and provide new product ideas and information.
  • Ensure continued self-education on applications, technologies, customers, products, markets, and competition.
  • Reports and presentations on applications, products, markets, and competition.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

  • B. Eng Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of technical field or inside technical sales support or engineering design with significant customer support
  • Strong knowledge and experience in key markets of Industrial; Health Sciences; Aviation; Military; Space and
  • Ability to travel within the region (Americas) up to 60% of the time as required to support customers and business growth.
  • Experience working with OEMs and distributors, with demonstrated win rate and business growth.
  • Experience with application knowledge, problem solving and overall product knowledge.
  • Must possess ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to achieve goals in support of multiple customers and sales managers.
  • Possess the ability to effectively collaborate and work across organizational and cultural boundaries to drive new applications; new product ideas and markets
  • Strong team player with good English written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Home office based with access to International Airport
