Our Barnstaple facility is located in North Devon. Founded in 1948, the site now employs approximately 160 employees and features the Aero Stanrew brand of electromagnetic components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for safety critical applications in aerospace and defence, industrial and transportation industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Planning Manager, we're recruiting for a Planner, responsible for planning manufacturing work schedules into the production areas. 

 

As the Planner, you'll develop and maintain production job schedules, in line with customer needs, establish strong relationships and provide world class levels of service to internal customers, and drive improved performance based on measurable KPIs.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Planning, coordinating and controlling interdepartmental activity within the Customer Programme Management team, Quality team, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Production and Logistics to ensure 'on time in full' (OTIF) deliveries.
  • Maintaining MRP to ensure alignment between material position and production capability/schedule (Sales order dates, job start dates, kit release etc).
  • Reviewing production orders for proper time keeping, material issue, and Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy.
  • Ensuring correct setting of MRP planning parameters.
  • Establishing efficient planning production systems to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

 

 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Skills and Experience we're looking for: 

 

  • A persistence to drive task completion and results on time.
  • Experience of ERP and MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools and techniques.
  • Project Management skills and awareness.
  • An analytical problem solver, with proven experience of working with data
  • Effective prioritisation and time management.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace or a similar industry.
  • Experience in working in low volume, high product mix, build-to-print environments and design to spec environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrable experience of effective negotiation and influencing skills for win-win outcomes.
  • Proactive change management experience.
  • A strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Some experience in working with engineering drawings and documentation is desirable but not essential.

 

Please be aware that many roles at TT Electronics are subject to both security and export control restrictions which means that limitations relating to nationality may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates must achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
