Role Overview and Responsibilities

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

 

Introduction

The Maintenance Technician performs basic, entry level, semi-skilled work. Technician is responsible for performing preventative repairs of the building, grounds, and equipment. Maintenance activities must ensure that employee health and safety, product safety, and the protection of the environment are never compromised, and that all maintenance activities enhance product quality, business performance, and business priorities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Observes building systems and operations; addresses and reports what is found to be in need of repair in a prompt and diligent manner to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Fulfils basic services, such as but not limited to facilities maintenance, custodial, parking lot maintenance, etc.
  • Assist in planning for, implementing, and moving new production lines.
  • Assist in maintaining a current facilities layout diagram for the site.
  • Possesses a passion for identifying unique solutions to problems.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations using 5-S principles.
  • Uses various documentation to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks (i.e. maintenance and repair procedures, project specifications, base building drawing and sketches, and manufacturer’s safety data sheets).
  • May serve as a point of contact and escort for contractors.
  • Maintains effective relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Deals with concepts, complexity, and ambiguity comfortably.
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and safe tool use.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, oft, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders as needed.
  • Good balance and coordination for work at heights.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use basic computer systems, maintenance software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Basic arithmetic and measurement skills; ability to apply simple algebra/geometry.
  • Ability to read and follow basic technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction , and take on new tasks.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation (ADA).

 

Desireable Skills and Experience

  • One-year related work experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory drive operate motor vehicles is required.
  • Proficient knowledge through previous experience of building equipment, building codes, and building systems (HVAC, plumbing and electrical) is preferred.
