Summary/ObjectiveThis role will help improve the site's quality performance metrics by taking a proactive approach to address issues in the manufacturing line through quality projects focused on yield improvement and other key quality metrics. Essential Functions- Devote the major portion of his/her time on managing quality projects focused on yield improvement, reducing process variation, process capability, MUV/scrap reduction and in line quality- Will measure, analyze and report data trends for quality projects and recommend improvement actions to quality manger. - Will help coordinate all in line quality initiatives throughout the site and work collaboratively as a team with other quality engineers, process engineers, supervisors, team leads and operators- Will help build a strong quality culture throughout the site working closely with the quality manger on culture-based quality programs. - Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, test, and supplier documentation in ensure that company and a customer’s quality requirements are fulfilled- Implement/Maintain MSA/SPC in the production line when deemed necessary by the quality manager. The quality engineers will be using statistical tools to ensure process and measurement control. - Provide guidance and assistance in selection and implementation of statistical methods to improve overall quality in Sales, Production Control, and Purchasing, as well as assigned production areas Secondary FunctionsWill cross train to other Quality Engineers, Quality Techs, Quality Inspectors and other functions as required by the Quality Manager.
