The Design Engineer is responsible for controlling all aspects of resistor design including: creating photomask layouts, compiling Special Process Specification documents from customer requirements and drawings, providing manufacturing costings for quoting new business opportunities, and providing CAD data for specific manufacturing equipmentThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. IntroductionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our company as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice based at our site in Abercynon, South Wales. About the Apprenticeship You will undertake a detailed training programme over three years where you will work in various departments across the company such as, Production Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Design Engineering and Machine Shop with exposure to a small took room and Quality. This programme will enable you to develop your Mechanical Engineering skill set and general knowledge of the company, its processes and how each department supports these. Following successful completion of the apprenticeship programme you will be offered a position within one of our departments which meets both the company's requirements but also an area where you have shown the most interest. You will be linked to your own dedicated mentor who will support you during your apprenticeship. You will be on day release each week to college and based at the factory for the other four days.
