Job Summary: The Sr. Production Scheduler will establish production schedules for the Minneapolis and Loveland facilities based on sales backlog, forecast, production capacity and material lead times. They will coordinate with production, purchasing quality, engineering and customer service to achieve best possible customer delivery dates and company inventory objectives. The Sr. Production Scheduler will work cross-functionally as required to expedite orders. They will utilize the ERP system effectively to accomplish job objectives. Job Functions:- Adherence to company policies, ISO and any other special job requirements.- Aid Scheduling process owner in maintaining Scheduling Process by providing process feedback including; discovered errors, recommended changes for process improvement, and developing work instructions for new process steps.- Assists ISO Management Rep and other ISO team members to maintain overall Quality Management System- Stays abreast of regulatory changes to ensure company compliance.- Reviews and provides input to the master schedule via customer requirements, customer orders and forecast data.- Develops production capacity plan with aide of Production Supervisors and Manufacturing Manager- Verifies material availability for orders with less than 8 weeks lead time and interacts with Purchasing regarding available dates for materials for those orders. Responds to material shortages and develops and communicates new ship dates to Customer Service and Production Management.- Plans for the master production schedule and coordinates with the Manufacturing Manager and Production Supervisor for resources based on customer service/sales requirements to achieve customer satisfaction and inventory objectives.- Reviews customer forecasts to develop and maintain approved forecast/planning parameters in ERP system to support customer agreements and company objectives.- Identifies material and labor constraints for expedited jobs and works with appropriate department managers to resolve. - Alerts Manufacturing and Purchasing to changing trends in shop load and material requirements and assists in planning actions to be taken.- Edits jobs to accommodate non-standard production, re-work and ECO/Deviations.- Maintains job codes to indicate confirmed jobs and jobs with material shortages.- Schedules complex jobs for a series of assemblies with part to part interactions to obtain a valid build plan to meet customer requirements. - Has a broad understanding of assembly part numbers and their specific production limitiations which cannot be captured in the ERP system. Devleops this level of competancy on new releases.- Serves as backup for labor entry to aid Team Leads.- Works with Proto Supervisor & Design Engineers to schedule Proto overflow into production when resources are available. - Develops plan for expedite jobs and communicates overtime requirements & additional tooling costs for quoting purposes.- Serves as expeditor for materials and labor for jobs that are behind schedule and expedited jobs. - Provides training for backup/assistant schedulers- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.- This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
